Q: Is FASTCASE made by Pong?
A: Yes. FASTCASE is a brand of Pong Research Corporation.
Q: What's the difference between a FASTCASE and Pong case?
A: FASTCASE uses the Pong technology. However, FASTCASE designed from the ground up for speed. It’s light. It’s thin. It’s clear. Also, FASTCASE is a case without a cover. It’s actually designed to work with other covers. In fact, it looks great with the Apple Smart Case®. More information about Pong cases can be found at pongresearch.com.
Q: Where is FASTCASE made?
A: FASTCASE is designed by Pong Research Corporation in Virginia, USA. Assembled in Taiwan.
Q: Is FASTCASE available for other iPad models (such as the iPad 1 and iPad Mini) or other tablet devices?
A: Currently, FASTCASE is inly available for the iPad 2/3/4, but we're always working on new models.
Q: Can I use my other case such as a Otterbox with the FASTCASE?
A: No, anything that is placed on the back of the device can actually interrupt the speed of your device by triggering the proximity sensor.
Q: What is a proximity sensor?
A: All Wi-Fi + cellular iPads have a built in proximity sensor to ensure that the device passes FCC safety compliance — when the black antennae strip is placed within 15mm of the user's body, the cellular antenna power is reduced (by up to 90%) in oder to comply with FCC cellphone radiation safety limits. The sensor is triggered by any object that comes close to it. This includes all cases, except FASTCASE. FASTCASE is the only case engineered to allow your iPad to function as Apple designed it, by not triggering this proximity sensor. As a result, FASTCASE increases cellular signal strength by up to 10X over any other case.
Q: Does FASTCASE affect my iPad's battery life?
A: FASTCASE can improve your battery life. How? Your battery life is directly related to the power drain of the device – which is impacted by two things: how frequently you use your device and how far away you are from the cell tower. Poor signal strength makes your mobile device work harder to communicate with the cell tower by transmitting more power, which shortens the battery life of your device. FASTCASE optimizes the signal strength of your mobile device by redirecting and redistributing, rather than reducing, your iPad's radiation. This means that your device doesn’t have to transmit more power to communicate with the cell tower. As a result, the battery life of your device with a FASTCASE case may be improved. Other products that shield or block radiation will force your mobile device to work harder to communicate, and therefore will drain your battery faster.
Q: Does FASTCASE reduce radiation exposure like the Pong cases do?
A: Absolutely. FASTCASE comes with all the radiation redirecting technology that Pong is known for.
Q: Why can't other cases provide the benefits that FASTCASE does?
A: Because other companies simply don't have the science or the focus. While many companies have dedicated themselves to making iPad cases fashion accessories, our team of PhD scientists has dedicated years studying how cases affect iPad performance. It turns out that all cases affect iPad performance: both how it transmits as well as how it receives. Every case negatively affects it, except ours. FASTCASE actually improves it. We have pioneered techniques and designed cases that improve it. We've built labs. We've run tests. We've filed patents. We try to know more about how your iPad receives and transmits signal than anyone else in the world. And all of that knowhow is concentrated into each case we build.
Q: I’ve put the case on. How come I don’t see additional bars?
A: The bars on the iPad indicate the strength of received signal. FASTCASE improves the transmitted cellular signal compared to any other case, not the received signal, so there will be no change in cellular bars. But FASTCASE does improve Wi-Fi received signal. So if you have less than maximum Wi-Fi bars, you could see additional bars with FASTCASE. However, the Wi-Fi bars cover a broad range of signal, and essentially describe good, average or poor received signal. So although FASTCASE will improve Wi-Fi reception, the “bar” scale may not be sensitive enough to display this improvement.
Q: What is your return/exchange policy?
A: We have a 60 same as cash refund policy. Meaning, you have sixty days to figure out if you like the case or not. Should you, for any reason, not like the case, please send it back to us and we will refund you for the case.
