Our engineers focused on making a case that would both improve your Apple® iPad® while also protecting it. These improvements have been independently tested and proven by WIRED® magazine in a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certified laboratory.
Improved Signal
Improved signal is the key to speeding up your iPad®. That’s because a stronger signal results in greater range, a steadier connection, and faster speeds. FASTCASE improves all three by improving both cellular and Wi-Fi signal. Here’s how.
Cellular signal strength is better than any case because FASTCASE is uniquely designed to be compatible with a proximity sensor embedded in the iPad®. Apple engineered the proximity sensor to power down the iPad’s® cellular transmission antenna whenever it gets close to the body—to comply with the FCC’s safety limits for cell phone radiation exposure. However, all other cases cover the sensor, thus reducing the iPad®’s transmitted power by up to 90%! The FASTCASE patented design makes sure you’re always getting the most power out of iPad’s® cellular antenna. The results speak for themselves: FASTCASE allows 10X greater transmitted power (TRP) than all other cases, including the Apple SmartCase®.
Wi-Fi signal is better because FASTCASE uses an ultra-thin embedded, flexible printed circuit board (PCB) antenna to enhance Wi-Fi reception. Other cases smother the Wi-Fi antenna and can reduce Wi-Fi reception. The FASTCASE antenna improves reception over leading cases, often dramatically. You’ll get up to 9.8X better reception than other leading cases with FASTCASE.
Maximize Range
Range is a measure of the distance iPad® can communicate with a cellular or Wi-Fi network. FASTCASE improves reception leading to better range. Your iPad® will have longer range on both cellular and Wi-Fi networks, so you won’t have to worry as much about dropping your connection when you have FASTCASE.
Other cases hurt the cellular range of your iPad® by covering up Apple’s proximity sensor. When covered, the sensor tells the iPad® to power down the cellular antenna and your range plummets. With FASTCASE you’ll get full power and up to 3.3X better range than with any other case.
Wi-Fi range is longer with FASTCASE, too. Our ultra-thin embedded, flexible PCB antenna optimizes the reception and allows you to be farther away from the router before you lose signal. Thanks to the enhanced signal, your iPad® will get up to 2.6X the Wi-Fi range over other leading cases.
For the scientific explanation of how it works: Range, r, is defined by the Antenna Power Ratio, where Pr is Received Power and Pt is Transmitted Power. Improved Wi-Fi reception with FASTCASE allows the iPad® to function on less Received Power. For cellular range, Transmitted Power is increased because FASTCASE does not trip the proximity sensor.
Steadier Connection
Many iPad® apps depend on a steady connection to function properly. Web apps like Gmail® and Facebook® rely on frequent updates to stay current. When weak connections drop data bits, app performance can suffer. Fortunately, FASTCASE provides more consistent connection resulting fewer dropped data bits.
For the scientific explanation, FASTCASE actually lowers Packet Error Rate (PER) and raises the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). Unlike other cases that trigger the proximity sensor, the FASTCASE has improved transmitted signal or a higher Signal to Noise Ratio, which results in more efficient transmission of information from your iPad to a cell tower. The FASTCASE ultra-thin embedded, flexible PCB antenna improves Wi-Fi reception, so that data transfer is more efficient between your Wi-Fi router and the iPad®. As a result, fewer data packets are dropped and Packet Error Rate is reduced.
Faster Speed
FASTCASE is the case for speed. With FASTCASE you’ll see more Mbps (Megabits per second) over other cases on cellular and Wi-Fi networks.
FASTCASE makes sure your cellular signal operates at 100% strength because it doesn’t trip the proximity sensor on the iPad®. FASTCASE allows the iPad® to work as Apple intended, instead of powering down the cellular antenna like other cases. FASTCASE can give your iPad® up to 3.6X faster data upload speeds compared to any other case on the market.
The FASTCASE flexible PCB antenna makes the Wi-Fi signal more efficient. With FASTCASE your iPad® can have up to 4X faster Wi-Fi uploads and 5X faster Wi-Fi downloads over other leading cases. Of course, there is a maximum limit to Wi-Fi speeds, so if your iPad® already has good signal and is operating at maximum speed, FASTCASE won’t make it go faster, but in regions of weak Wi-Fi reception you should experience a gain.
